Outdoor Furniture
Outdoor furniture is a large investment and not something you want to replace every spring. With proper care and cleaning, you can enjoy your outdoor furniture for many years. Use the following quick reference to maintain your outdoor furniture. Shine is happy to provide this information as a service to you.
**RATTAN FURNITURE**
Made of soil resistant polyethylene fibers, our furniture is totally maintenance free. However, if you wish to clean the furniture, we recommend cleaning with soap and water. Use a soft brush and rinse with cold water
**TEAK WOOD**
Teak Table tops and armrests are supplied untreated, and over time will develop a patina. If you wish to treat the teak table tops and armrests, we recommend you use teak oil-this will naturally make the wood darker!
**STAINLESS STEEL**
Stainless steel is extremely weatherproof. However, tarnishing can occur in the form of flash rust. This can be removed using a stainless steel cleaner. The base can be protected against tarnishing by wiping it with acid-free oil at least twice a year.
**TEMPERED GLASSES**
Our glasses are tempered and can be put on top of woven surface. To clean glass with little mess, try a solution of one quarter cup vinegar to a gallon of warm water. Use a terry cloth wash rag to scrub the surface, rinse with the same, and dry with newspaper.
**CUSHION & THROW PILLOWS**
1 teaspoon dishwashing detergent
1 quart warm water
1 tablespoon borax
You could remove and clean the covers with dishwashing detergent by hand at maximum of 30 degrees Centigrade. Saturate a sponge and use it to wash the covers. You can put it in a spray bottle and saturate covers on both sides, paying particular attention to the crevices and creases. Let the covers sit for 15 minutes. Spray the solution off with a hose using a strong force of water. Stand each covers on its edge out of the direct sun to dry. When almost dry, spray with a fabric protector. To remove dust between cleaning, vacuum as needed. Or, if the cushions are small enough, just shake them out.
Our cushion covers are made of 100% polyester. They are waterproof. But we commend you to put the cushions and throw pillows in for heavy raining days and sunshine days for best comfort.
**UMBRELLAS**
Patio umbrellas should be cleaned with mild detergent unless mildewed. Please close the umbrella when you do not use it or during high windy days.
To preserve your furniture in good condition and allow it maximum useful life, we recommend you bring the furniture and accessories in for the winter.
